4.3 Conversion - Best electric fan
« on: Jan 23, 2004, 01:12:12 PM »
I'm in the middle of a 4.3 conversion and much to my surprise I've run out of room for a clutch fan. Anyone have suggestions for an electric puller with less than a 3" profile? Any help is appreciated.

Found their website. Thanks! How do you like yours? Is it a pusher or puller? Does it circulate enough air to keep everything cool?

I'll tell ya monday ;)

I am moving my rad from the back to the front and clearance is tight! I have heard very good things about the spal fans though..

Mine is the 2.05" deep 16" puller. The airflow is only spec'd at 1300 and I should have 2000 so we'll see, if it doesn't work I'll add a pusher or something, but depth is a major issue. You can fit the one that moves 2300 cfm I think though..

My buddy runs that set up.(1 smaller pusher and 1 larger puller)
Only on hot days when hes needing the high rpm range will it heat up..But thats what the pusher is for and he has no worries.I don;t know what brand of fan he is running..I think the puller is the ford taurus fan..
Forgiveness is between them and god..
Its my job to arrange the meeting!

1988 4.3 TBI out of an 4X4 S10 Blazer. I figured going TBI would lessen the pain of wiring - I might be wrong. I'm using the AA motor mounts - chose them since all the other kits I saw required reusing the rubber from the donor vehicle and mine were shot.

Ford Taurus used an electric fan? Do you know what year?

so far so good, nice and quiet - only draws 8 amps (compared to a constant 30+ for the last one I had, tauras or whatever). I like it a lot, no complaints but I haven't exactly used it a lot.
