3.0 help needed badly
« on: Jul 06, 2006, 03:05:47 PM »
please help me!!  I have a 91 ext cab dlx with the 3.0. it started to run rough from idle to around 1500 rpm, with a noticable loss of power. I found the #5 plug wire had pulled back into the boot at the distributor and had been arching. so after new plugs and wires, still rough.  check engine light came on with codes 25 & 26. But how can it be ruinning lean and rich at the same time? :headscratch:  can someone please help me with this.

Are you sure you're counting the flashes right?  :headscratch:  if you are, then I'd guess you may have an ECU problem :dunno:

I'm assuming you have a book to check the codes with, I know my HAynes manual suggest a few different things that could be an issue with each of the codes.  See where they overlap.

The only reference that I have is the link from this site to the toyotech site. And it list the same culprets for both symptoms. My friend who is a ASE master tech told me to clear the codes, and when the light comes back re-check it, and that only one of those codes should show up. Thanks Blackdog, if you or anyone has anymore info I would greatly appriciate it. :beerchug:
