wheel studs
« on: Jun 05, 2006, 04:54:16 PM »
If I wanna replace my wheel studs should I just go buy them individually or just buy a solid axle wheel hub. Can I just take the wheel hub off and pound the studs out and replace?

I was just doing this today! Do you have a press or access to one? Just go buy some Dorman 610-264 studs. No need to buy a complete hub.

get new studs.... the idea of pressing them out and pressing them in wont work, because studs are spined and are a one time insertion type  thing, trying to reuse them may not allow them to seat properly and they might just spin in the hub, if tht inning occurs with a lugnut, its never coming off.....
