Revolver Shackles
« on: May 24, 2006, 01:47:52 PM »
Hey guys/gals, I was wondering if I can put Revolver Shackles on the front leafs of my 85 toyota. I've looked around and most places say that they are not avaliable to order for the front? I understand that on-road usage is not recommended, is there any other reason that I would not be able to do this? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks

Cause it would be bad.  Don't do it.  Unstable, unsafe...don't do it.  Run a good spring, or rears up front to get the flex you want...god, the pinion angle rotation alone makes me wanna cry...it would be bad.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Because the shackle would hit the frame on compression.

also, the shackle moutns through the frame, not below it like in the rear, and i dont even theink the ears of the shackle would clear that added height
