he said it was a limited 4x4 runner   95 model with a bad motor...everything else is okay  is it worth 800.00/...also he said it didnt have a title...but i think i could get a junk title.

Without a title, it is worthless. I just passed up a hell of a deal on a tow vehicle for this very reason.

Just think, you buy it and get it running. Maybe you get to 'wheel it a couple of times. Then someone comes and takes it away from you, legally, because they have the title to it.

Sketchy. I wouldn't do that because you could technically be charged with receiving stolen property and then you would be out 800+ the costs to get rid of charges, but that is worst case senario. Best case: You get it running, wheel it for a while, and then maybe someone takes it out. Then you are out 800+ the money that it took to get it running.

If you can get the vin# then run it through the police dept. if it comes up clean. It's up to you. But look for the vin plates and make sure that all 3 match
1. engine compartment
2. the dash panel
3. drivers side door
if any are missing or altered walk away

Ya, if the vin is clean that's a smokin deal. Check with your DMV to find out what it would take to register it.

Run the VIN, if it's clean, then ask the guy who has it to file for a lost title and write you a bill of sale.  If he wont ask him how to get a hold of the previous owner and try and get them to do it.  If he cant do that, call him a doosh bag, wallop his ass for the trouble and walk away
