Topic: high idle problem/ 22re

my roomate and i just did a complete rebuild of the 22re in his 89 toy, now it constantly idles around 1500 RPM. we adjusted the idle screws as much as possible and it didn't make much difference, i'm thinkin its a vacuum problem or maybe an electrical sensor but i'm not sure which it might be. we looked over the vacuum diagram several times and we think everything is correct.    dont know? any help or ideas would be appreciated! thanks

Did you ever figure the idle problem out? I did a fuel injection swap from a 22re to a 22r and now it idles high too. I cant figure it out either. Let me know what you did to fix it. Thanks

its been a long time since we finished and figured out the problem.   so i'm sorry i dont recall what it was. he figured it out one day while i wasnt around and i dont remember what it was. i do remember that there are some wires that go to a little plastic box on the fender. i think its just a place for ground wires to hook up.  he had some of the wrong wires hooked up there and when he fixed that it ran alot better. so i'm sorry i cant be of much help!
