Autometer guages
« on: Mar 06, 2006, 08:14:33 AM »
I'm in the process of rebuilding my 22RE.  I want to have some decent, accurate gauges for oil pressure, water temp, and voltage.  I looked at summit's website and they have a billion 2 1/16 gauges.  What makes a gauge good?  Will they lookup fairly easily?  Where would be the best place to mount these three gauges?  A-Pillar?  Custom made gauge pod near the radio?  I'm not looking to spend more than $45 a gauge and most of the autometer's are between $30-$40.

any help would be great!  :turtle:

I went the route right below the radio and tilted them slightly twords the driverseat so I can see them easly... I assume your going to use manual gauges?  If so make sure you use plenty of teflon tape for the oil gauge so it doesn't leak..

Do you have any pics of your setup?  Are you running those three as well?  I was planing on running manual gauges, aren't they more accurate and seem to be cheaper.

Thanks for the tip on the telflon tape.  :beerchug:
