spring hangers question

Im trying to remove the springs from the hangers and im having one helluva time.  Im probably not noing something but is there a trick to it?

WD 40 & a big hammer. Sometimes they get rusty stuck.

do you mean that you can not get the pin out of the spring ends or the shackle off the springs, they are easily rusted and seized on, try heating the pin/shackle with a torch, it shouldnt take to much heat but the old bushings will probably burn and melt a bit and then the pins should slide out fairly easily, when you put it all back together lube it regularly and it will come apart with ease next time.
