Rear axle and springs needed!
« on: Jun 18, 2005, 05:41:35 AM »
I was just in a little accident, all my fault, and now I've got a broken leaf in the rear and a screwed up axle housing.  I'm in the Pittsburgh area, but I'll travel a little to get a good axle.  I could use a complete rear axle and leaf springs for a 91 4wd pick up.  It's a 4 cylinder with 4:10 gears, all stock.

If no one's got a complete rear axle, I may be able to get by with just a passenger side axle shaft.  It's my understanding the axle shaft comes out with the brake drum backing plate pressed on.  Thanks again.

I have a complete rear axle and springs under my 88 V-6 parts truck. I am not sure if the bolts will come out of the springs but can cut the u-bolts for the axle. It is a little rusty but everything works fine and would clean up great. It is also 4.10 gears, should swap right in?

$200.00 for complete axle assembly. You arrange shipping.

Thanks,

Where are you located?  I ordered a replacement axle shaft from a local junkyard, but if that doesn't fix my problem I'll keep your offer in mind, thanks a lot!

Would you be willing to part with your rear leaf springs?  Well, are leafs from an '88 the same length and stuff as the later models.  Mine's a 91.  If the springs are the same and I end up buyin 'em maybe you could cut the shackes and mounts and I could try to drive out the bolts once the springs are off.

Thanks again for your offer!

I'm not sure what the years are, but some toyota leaf rear springs have a much larger spring bolt. My buddy's 89 rears are larger than the 86 rears.  The bolt I'm talking about is the one that sits inside the axle perch.

I think they changed in 89 actually.  The way I understand is that the springs from 89-95 are different than the earlier years.  Not positive tho.
