« on: Jun 19, 2005, 03:32:54 PM »
I've got fuel coming out of this line when the fuel pump is turned. Anyone know what I did wrong? I'm putting a 22RE in an 80.

Your gas tank has three tubes coming/going to/from it.  Out, return, emission(vent).  Emission goes to the charcoal canister on the firewall.

Blow into a line, if you hear bubbling or gurguling sound in the tank, that line is the outlet or feed to the engine.  If you only hear air/hissing that would be your return line.

Pressurize the tank and the one that spews fuel will be your feed/outlet line.

Do a hand over hand of your lines.  The return line is the one farthest over to the drivers side, the outlet is next to that one, and the emission linegoes all the way to the "T" that vents to the fill pipe.

Capice?
Some idiots are too busy knowing it all, to ever learn anything...
