Stripping an IFS for parts....
« on: May 01, 2005, 11:15:12 AM »
I took the everything from the rotors out including the calipers.  Are these ifs hubs (dial and aluminum piece) the same as a solid axle hub??  Are there any other parts I should rob from the front before I junk it?  Please consider hub swaps and full float conversions and let me know what I should keep.  Thanks for your help!!

I would strip demned neat everything off the rig just like a good wrecking yard would but thats just me.  Keep the hubs, they are the same as solid axled hubs but they have 27 spline's.  The resto f it is all swappable.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Maybe you already did this, but I would get the IFS steering box for a 79-85 Cossover Steering swap, you can always sell it to someone if you don't need it for $75+.

This one was pretty bare when I got it.  NWOR chevy mounts, wide rear, ifs front, and an arb type winch bumper on the front.  That was about it.
