R151F vs R150f input shaft lengths
« on: Dec 25, 2022, 10:20:11 AM »
I have a R151F transmission and I'm trying to swap a R150F bellhousing onto it for a TDI swap. From what I've gathered that the input shaft on a early R150F is the same as the R151F and the Tacoma R150F is longer. So I believe I want the get a 3vz bellhousing. Can anyone confirm this? Any help would be appreciated.

I can confirm it. I put the bellhousing from a R150 F from a 3.0 truck on my R151F for my 3.4 swap. I also swapped in the gear set because the 22RE turbo gear ratios sucked with the 3.4

The later model input shaft is longer. So YES you want the bellhousing from a 3.0 truck.

I sold my R151F gears and bellhousing and it paid for some Marlin upgrade parts and my rebuild kit. So don't just stash them in a shed. People are looking for that stuff. Good luck with your build.
