Most of these types use the same pins.  The most visisble differences are in the springs that hold the pins in place.  Detroit EZ locker uses two(2), an inner and an outer, with a little plug on the opposite end from the pin. Springs are moderately stiff.

Lock-Right has a single spring no plug. Springs are a PITA.

The one from 4WParts, Genuine Gear, uses two(2) springs, inner and an outer, no plug.  Springs are easiest of the three listed to compress.

All of these work the same, and install the same way.  I have found no noticeable difference in function.

They probably won't sell you the pins.  When mine were broken they did send me some new ones for free though!

Call FootHill Off Road in Auburn and talk to Tom Grancy 530-889-2021

I belive that that this locker had two pins with the little round backing plates, I talked to Virgil at foothill off road a while ago and got three different kits that all didnt work.  the problem was not the sbrings, all of the kits had the double springs and backing plate, but that the pins were too short and wouldent allow the locker to completely enguage. One thing that I neglected to mention about the locker is that it uses uses retaining pins that are tapped into a hole above the springs to compress them.  I installed a lock rite in my old jeep wagoneer and all i had to do was put the pins and springs in a slot in the side of the inner part of the locker, there were no retaining pins.  I will try to get some pictures soon.  :turtle:  :usa:

I finnaly got some pics of the "Lock Right" as I call it.  This pic is of the locler completely apart.  The three(I lost one) retaining pins are the ones I got in a rebuild kit that ate about 1/4 inch too short.   :turtle:  :usa:

They all look the same to me.  I think that I have an extra set of springs and pins that came with a quick lock that I had.  I'll look...If I still have them you can have em.
I went through 2 sets before I switched to a spool.  Come to find out it was because I hadn't re-used the thrust washers...
But anyway...4wp replaced the whole thing for me under warranty.
Good luck  :beerchug:
You have a Jeep?  That's cute.... So does Barbi.

That would be great if you found the locker rebuild kit.  I am considering just welding up the spiders, but I dont want to have to unlock a hub just to turn.  My rear is already welded and I could easily weld the front, but I am told that i will break inners left and right.   :turtle:  :usa:

I can't find my extra set...But they have to be around somewhere...I'll keep looking.  But,
I run a spool in the front and turning really isn't an issue unless you are on pavement in 4wd, even the slickrock in moab wasn't a big deal.  I just had to add a medium sized tranny cooler for the power steering to keep the pump happy.  So far no problems.  :beerchug:

I've never seen one that uses those roll pins instead of springs to hold the main pins in place. If you know the diameter and length of the pins you need you can just buy some dowel pins that size. You don't have to buy any kind of special "locker pins", any hardened dowel pin should work. Try your local machine shop , most machine shops keep a good selection of dowel pins.
