What are your thoughts about choosing a Manual Transmission or Automatic Transmission for a new 2020 Tacoma? Big Mike knows his stuff and got a manual transmission but I have seen nice builds with automatic also. Personally, I enjoy driving a stick and plan on getting a new 2020 Tacoma in a couple months with a manual but still have time to make a final decision.  The only better thing about choosing an automatic I have been able to research about for a new 2020 Tacoma is you can get Toyota's best JBL sound system. It makes no sense why they don't let you choose that premium option with a Manual. I will be having this truck built to the maximum in performance throughout. The front will be the upcoming RCLT HD. I'm not sure if it will have 37" or 39" tires. It will be a daily driver too besides trail driven but I don't drive much because I work out of home.
Thanks. Jack

A manual transmission is a theft deterrent...…..

Any way to fix the drive by wire problem?

I've had both in my Toy trucks.  I loved my automatic in my first 1986!

Wheeling the auto was so nice!!... and it was a beautiful daily driver.

I believe the 5-speed has some advantages, but there are trade-offs.

I would not go manual unless it was before drive by wire.

I would agree

Other reasons for a manual......…….

Less things to go wrong, and when it wears out

It's easier to rebuild by yourself...…………  (I did my W56 and my sister's W50 from a Corona)
