4.7f-2.8r swapping order question
« on: Oct 07, 2017, 04:22:06 AM »
So I recently purchased an 87 Toyota with a 4.7 front case and 2.8 rear twin stick. In the past I had the same setup only in the reverse order, 2.8 front and 4.7 rear. Can I simply change the order of the cases or do I need to swap the internal components? I think from a mechanical standpoint I would rather have the 2.8 case in front.

You can swap the housing that holds the gears front to back with the gears, and i would since the 4.7 already has its housing clearanced. But essentially you'll be tearing everything apart either way.
