R150F to R151
« on: Jan 03, 2017, 12:22:46 PM »
So I'm in need of a new trans for my Taco (98 3.4). I have an opportunity to pick up a r151 for a good price. However I have questions about swapping between these two transmissions. My searching is showing me that I would need the bellhousing for the 3.0 (or the r151) and that the shifters would be pushed forward. I'm wondering how far forward the shifters would be and also if there is anything else I need to know. My current setup is as follows:

3.4 -> R150F -> Adapter -> Crawl box ->Dual Case Adapter -> r150F stock chain case.

I'm wondering if by losing the adapter between the r150F and crawl box if I'm looking at having to have my drivelines re-done as well. Thanks for any help.

My understanding is that the taco input is longer than the 3.0/turbo
