north of the border
« on: Nov 30, 2016, 10:16:08 PM »
Folks,

Greetings from across the line!

Been in and out of the Toyota truck habit for quite awhile.  Cut my teeth on a '83 long box, had a few diesel 60 series Cruisers, now back to a '86 extended cab with a few treats.  Hoping to build a nice all-rounder...built to take some crap, yet easy to use as a daily driver.

Not really into crawling as a stand-alone activity, per se...but I live out in the boonies and just getting to the nearest town can be an epic sometimes and requires a sturdy, reliable rig.  As well, many of the local FSRs require healthy clearance, flex and articulation to get through the deeper water bars.  Even some of the neighbour's driveways are a challenge!

I can turn wrenches and understand concepts and systems, yet I'm no fabricator.  Thankful for the inspiration and ideas found on forums such as this.

Cheers,

Roy

There's a lot of space up here. Care to narrow down your area? You could be just down the road or across the country. It would suck to live a couple hours drive from a member that could help you out and never know it.

V-Man,

You're right, there is a lot of space up here!  I'm in BC...southern interior-ish.

Cheers!
