4wd light
« on: Mar 29, 2005, 12:59:13 PM »
After I pulled the tranny, and put it back in, the 4wd light in my dash no longer works.  It isnt a big deal, but it is nice to have.  I know my truck goes into 4x4, so that isnt the problems, I think the plug was either plugged in wrong, or wasnt at all.  I have a 91 v-6 does anyone have experience with this?

did that, I actually wasnt the person who unplugged them and plugged them back in so I am not sure which it is.  I am assuming it is the one in the t-case that is round, and actually screws on, not slides in.  Is that it or am I off?

i dont know why you or whoever would have actually unscrewed the switch but yes, that is right.
as far as i know you cannot interchange the plugs.
go to the harness under there.
with key on you should have 12v at the harness, the switch in the case grounds and turns on the light.
hold this. . .

Are you not supposed to unscrew it?  We were dropping the tranny and t-case, and my buddy unhooked all the wiring.

there is just really no reason to take it out if you are just pulling the trans and case, there is a connection.
you should just unplug it and leave the switch in the case.
if you unscrwed it with it plugged in you may have broken the wire or something.
hold this. . .

you can check that switch, it should show continuity to ground in 4wd and open in 2wd.

I think your seeing the speed o meter cable. I think it should be a plug in connector.
