Front Drivetrain Lift
« on: Jun 21, 2015, 05:33:40 PM »
I'm working on doing a drivetrain lift on my '84 Pickup, as it looks I'll be about 1.5-2" short of a true flatbelly.  After that I run into the major floorboard modifications, having to cut out the horseshoe crossmember, and I would have to notch the floor to clear the speedo cable.  My question is how much can I lift the engine mounts on a 22r before I start to run into the hood?  It doesnt look like I can get away with much, but I was hoping for at least an inch to help out the rear U-joint a little.  I could make a low profile oil cap if needed and save maybe 1/2" if needed.  I'm trying to keep this truck as low as possible, so a body lift is not an option.  Thanks for looking.
