I think they may to have to re-think how fast stalagtites and stalagmites form in caves, because this is fast growth!
Who is they? Stalactites and stalagmites are already known to grow in very short time frames, some well documented examples are growing at 1 inch per year. Scientists would have you believe that they grow less than a centimeter per one thousand years with a maximum growth rate of only a few millimeters per year but we already have stalactites growing from bridges in Philadelphia that are more than a foot long after only half a century.
