Good deal on this one for a first Toyota?
« on: Sep 28, 2014, 04:42:28 PM »
Hey everyone! I am new here but also new to Toyotas. Ive wheeled Jeeps for a long time but decided its time for some change  This seems to be the best deal Ive found locally so far. I can get it for a little less than what the asking price is. I plan to drive this to work a few times a week and then besides that have it around for a hunting, off road build type project. Whats everyone's opinion on this for being my first one?

Here in CA it would be priced a bit high for the model(standard) and the condition it is in, however looking at the c-list it is on, rust seems to be an issue in your area, so it could be priced right. NADA for Atlanta area has it valued a lot lower, based on looks alone if it runs well, no leaks or rust etc., $2500 would be a fair price.

Based on your plans, it will work just fine, stock steering components and axles will hold up to about 35's depending on driving style.  FWIW, an IFS rig would also work for your plans, though if you are a throttle down type of driver, you will want to stick with the straight axle.
