KM2'S and the Goodyear MTR Kevlar are awesome tires, but the IROK is one tough tire and works great in all types of terrain. They are all going to be good for trail use.

I have the irok radials and really like them for everything except tread life. Their relative "softness" that makes them good offroad keeps them from lasting, IMO. I drive my truck to the trail, but it's not my daily driver so the iroks are a good balance for me. If I were trailering it I might do something else, but I'm not sure what.

Mtrs are my choice.. Iroks are great but like you said.. they wear fast.. I have the old style and swear by them. Have had them in mud sand rock road ice etc. they are awesome. Km2s seem nice too but are pricey compared to Iroks and others.. I had tsls and they were terrible on everything.

I am running km2. I wont run anything else. They are great in the snow, rock, and great on the road. They are kinda pricy but tread life is real good on them. Is you're rig a daily driver, trailered, or like me just to the trails and home. I think the answer to that question should probably help you choose.

You've never ran them on packed snow or ice have you.

I have. The only time it scared my I was doing 50.  I have heard you need to use caution on packed ice.

I like my IROKs for crawling but tread is terrible for road travel.  I use KM2's for my daily driver and they are awesome.  I live in Lake Tahoe and they are great all year.  Especially in winter.

I have a set of KM2s.  I like them except that they hold gravel till about 40 mph and then shoot it against my fenders.  They don't seem to wear as well for me as the original MTs.

Pitbull Rockers or IROK's.  So that means you should try the Rockers.  I have multiple friends who run them and they are in love.

I got thrown off the road in my first gen with weight in the back, in four wheel drive (no lockers), going 15mph, on packed ice before. Did the same road in the same conditions with cooper discoverer stt and I never got thrown off.

I don't do much driving in the snow. Occasionally I go snow wheeling but I don't really like it all that much. One time I was going way to fast on my way up to wheel in the snow and I hit a patch going around 50. My rear end started slipping. Scared the crap out of me but I was able to maintain control. The km2's did rock in the snow that day!!

I have trxus mt's on my 4runner and love them and have km2's on my dd tacoma hard packed ice and snow the km2's suck unless you like sliding all over the place with hardly any control took me 3 tries with a lot of speed and sliding to get to my snow wheeling spot in reno while my 4runner with a spool and trxus mt's barely got sideways in 2wd
