no power to fuel pump
« on: Mar 08, 2013, 02:33:08 PM »
I picked up a 94 2wd from a buddy. he did a motor swap with an older 22re and he said he had to "modify" some wiring at the ECU. He never got it running and now im trying.

The problem is. it will crank but im not getting any fuel. sounds like the fuel pump is not getting any power! I checked the EFI fuse and it is getting power on both sides. i ohmed it and im getting around 70ohms across 1 and 2, is that right? what else could be the issue?

Unplug it at the tank and jump it there, if it works you have a wiring problem. If id does not work you need a new pump.

"he said he had to "modify" some wiring at the ECU."

Sounds like you found the problem see what he "modified" and fix it!!!!

so i ran power straight to the pump and got nothing. also, retried jumping from b+ to fp and i did get power to the plug. so im going to assume i need a pump and maybe a new COR?

If the pump was good, jumping it should make it work. Jumping bypasses the COR. Drop the tank and jump the pump itself before you go buy one, not cheap. I get them from Pick-N-Pull, most all EFI Toyotas use the same pump in the tank.

yeah going to pull it tomorrow.
At the COR im getting 12v and nothing at the pump. when i jumper out B+ to Fp i get 12v at the pump (still not working) and it drops down to 10.5 at the COR.
