In this thread is what Erik B did on his 97 runner, he used the torsion type sway bars that he bought the parts at Rock Equipment in Lincoln, CA. This is a big thread so it will take some digging!http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/toyota-tacoma/609488-my-new-trail-street-rig-build-97-4runner.htmlAlso on his web page it shows the swaybar he ran on his 86 runner.http://home.4x4wire.com/erik/Some people say a swaybar will make no difference on a rig, I am here to tell you they make a whole lot of difference in the handleing, especally if it is a DD.
I used one from the front a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I installed it in the rear of my truck. Made all the difference in the world! I can usually hammer down in 3rd gear on some decent off ramps with no trouble at all. made the biggest difference when I was fully loaded down heading to MCR last Sept. It was nice being able to take the corners without that heavy lean with the weight we were carrying. I used heims and made all my own brackets to the frame. I DD mine as well. 8)
