Rear Non=CV Driveshaft question
« on: Mar 09, 2005, 04:10:01 PM »
Does the slip yoke end mount on the T-case of the diff on stock 84-89 toyota trucks and 4runners?  My 85 4runner bought used had it mounted at the diff end.  My 85 pickup bought used had it at the t-case end and my brothers 88 v6 4runner had it at the t-case end.  Also, does it matter which end is at the t-case flange?

thanks

Here is my take on it..If your doing alot of rockcrawling and have a stock thinkness driveshaft ,,then the slip yolk should go towards the diff,,,reason is it gives you a few mor inces of space to beat on so that the tube does not get dented..the youlk can take a good beating...If your just running regular trails then run the slip atthe top near t-case..i think there it takes less abuse from the weather, mud and grime...but other then that it really don't matter..
Forgiveness is between them and god..
Its my job to arrange the meeting!

The factory plan was slip yoke at the t-case.  Most folks with a CV  put the slip yoke at the diff.
Some idiots are too busy knowing it all, to ever learn anything...
