I just did mine. For an 88 FWD though. Marlin's and All-Pro instructions say to push it all the way forward. Sky and TG say to center it. I put mine in center and wish I would have put it forward.

But.....I have 3" springs and the spring hanger mounted flush with cross member. What springs do you have and where is your spring hanger?

My spring hanger is pushed forward as far as I could get it. sorry im confused explain what you mean by center & forward. also just updated above. thanks You mean center of eyelet with no weight on them? & you wish you would have gone a bit forward of that? like 1/4" or 1/2"??

ok I just went out and scratched this up before cutting away my cab mount or anything (it will be in the way) (left to right) mark A inside cab mount, directly above bolt is full weight compressed spring mark B is with no weight on it, & mark C is 1" forward of mark B to the center of circle.

To me it looks like I should set my frame tube jig on mark B.

Just google toyota sas instructions. You can look at Marlin's, All-Pro, Sky, TG on- line instructions and plenty of build threads with pics.

I put mine centered between the body mount. I wish I would have put it a little forward, the jig pushed against the front of the mount. About where your mark is above the shackle in the last pic.

Don't cut until you are sure it's where you want it.

i just did an 86 runner. i would recommend using the jigs. first i located and tacked on the front hanger. then i found the center of the hole in the jigs and marked em. next i placed the jig on the frame between the body mount and marked it 44 1/8'' from center of the hole to center of hanger bolt. cut the holes with a torch then notched the top of the jigs and put them back on the frame remeasured and tacked the jigs. resting the tubes on the bottom of the jig to perfectly locate them i  tacked the tubes and removed the jigs. remeasured and welded them in. i then bolted everything up checked shackle angle and finish welding on the hanger. 44 1/8''  from center of tube to center of hanger bolt with RUF gave me a 30* shackle angle. remeasured after every step. thats how i do it hope it helps you some.

My shackle hole is right in the middle of my body mount. With ruf and a front hanger about an inch in front of the frame

One more.

I think I would have been better off moving the jig forward where it touched the body mount for a little more shackle angle.

Now this is on my 88 4x4. Yours will be different. Just posting to give you an idea of what I was talking about.

completed mine

I butted the jig directly to the body mount center of hole was 1" forward of mount. Mind you this is 2wd to sas 4wd conversion, Frame is shorter.
