22rte auto to manual swap?

For a auto to manual trans swap in a 86 2wd 22rTe pickup can i keep the auto ECU for the manual trans and what do I do with a neutral safety switch and the ECT? Any help is greatly appreciated

im not to familiar with the older auto trannys but a friend of mine swapped in a manual into his 94 runner and the overdrive light would sit there and flash but other than that it worked fine

you need to wire the neutral safety to think its in park or neutral other wise it wont start.  just be careful becaus it will start in gear with out clutch enguaged.  Yess the auto ecu wil work.

The auto ECU will work with the 5-speed setup. As for mine, the mil-function light remain on until I changed the ECU to a standard.
