3.0 mechanical fan VS electric fans
« on: Oct 30, 2010, 07:24:02 PM »
Who has ditched the mechanical fan on the 3.0 and are running electric fans. What benefits did you see, and how much did your fuel mileage go up. Thanks, Carl

Ditto here. The only thing I really noticed is the ability to get heat rolling quicker when it's cold outside. MPG might have increased slightly but I never checked it; if it did it wasn't enough for me to notice without a calculator.

The mechanical one only "pulls" air when its needed, then it drags on the engine.
When a electrical fan comes on it, it creates drag on the engine too
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?
