How to remove ignition key assembly
« on: Jul 25, 2011, 11:13:28 PM »
I have tried searching ....

I want to swap my ignition key from my 85 runner into my 89 runner. On the 85 it was simple to get the tumbler key mech. out . Just turn key to acc. push button with a awl and pull . On the 89 there is no button/pin  I can see. Its difinetly not where the 85 was .

Anyone know how to remove it ?

Are the years interchangable even ?

Thanks

They use breakhead bolts prob. You have to use a left hand drill bit or a chisel
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

It worked on the 85 , but the 89 does not have the pin there it is solid where pin should be . I looked all around for another pin hole ...
