Topic: F and 2F Engine questions and question on the price of it.

Im looking at buying a 62 FJ that has a F engine in it, the guy says it just needs a carb, it turns over but just wont fire. Are the carbs on a F and the 2F the same, because i have a spare 2F carb off my girlfriends dads FJ that i could use if they are the same.

Yes and no. There are different carbs throughout the years both on the F and 2F engines. The newer the carb the more vacuum and or emissions related components. I'm not 100% sure on the throttle linkage, but a 2F carb will bolt on to an F engine, it may take some modifications to make it work though.

Ok and another question, on if it's a good price or not. The guy is selling a 1962 fj40 for $800 it doesn't have any seats or hard top but has the hard doors. It does not run but will turn over the seller says it's a carb problem. Any input
