I need all new lock/snap rings for my t-case.
I checked mcmaster Carr and some online dealers and have been unable to find them.

I seem to be missing all of them but the small one on the output shaft.

Any advice??

EDIT:a related, but not totally related thread in newbie section, I did not intend to cross post, notice I am asking about lock rings here and bearings there...

EDIT#2: This is fascinating that missing snap rings are apparently common.

Alot of times the snap ring comes with the bearing when the bearing is purchased.  My best guess would be to go to a Nachi bearing dealer being that all of the bearings in the t-case are Nachi (I think).

I have plenty of bearing snap rings, I need the shaft snap rings, the ones that hold the input shaft to the bearing. I just re-bearinged my case and noticed I had most of them missing. I don't think they are on the stock 2.28 gears either.

I guess a junkyard is my only choice?

Yota man Jim is close to me, but I would think he would have a hard time giving up those small pieces from a complete case.

Oh, I thought you need the bearing ones.   Since you're looking for those fat, cheap pliers breaking lock rings I'd recommend giving the guys at Marlin a call, they probably have lots of them laying around that they might would sell you.

All of this stuff is available from your dealer, a day or so away. I just got the large bearing ring and the smaller output ring. You might also check with Marlin, I bet he has a source.

EDIT: THIS POST HAS BEEN EDITED MANY TIMES

here are the ones I need, I do have a small one that is in good shape, which I thought went on the main shaft in addition the the large one near the big bearing, but looks like it goes elsewhere.

I put this up more for my own reference then anything since it looks like I have to visit a junk yard or dealer to get the parts.

so for future reference (as long as the pictures stay up) these are all the "tool breaking snap rings" aka PAIN IN THE ASS snap rings in the case, the rest are just easy bearing snap rings which you can pretty much get out with your hands.

Input gear 1.280"x0.084" snap ring (thick snap ring)

Toyota Part# 90520-33168 ~$7.50  :o

Countershaft bearing1.177"x0.084" (Thick snap ring)
Toyota Part #90520-30215  ~$4.50

Main Shaft (the large one) (no measurements)
Toyota Part#90520-36252 ~$9.71 :o :o

Idler gear (located on the shaft NOT the bearing) 1.090"x0.060" (thin snap ring)
Toyota Part# 90520-28243  ~$4.40

EDIT: I noticed that the three smaller snap rings rode on different size shafts, I found one left over from an old 2.28 spur gear and I had one left from my build, one was thinner then the other and was clear which shaft it fit. I was unable to measure the main shaft snap ring slot as I could not fit my caliper inside the partially assembled case.

I will try and order them from the dealer tomorrow, I will report back what I find.

OH, the FSM states you must find a size of snap ring that fits best when doing this, they list 4-5 thicknesses for each

decided I wanted factory new parts and went to the dealer...

I will get all four of them tomorrow for about $25 (Ouch!) but hopefully it will be a long long time before I have to open the cases again.

I had to specify the thickness when I ordered, the order sheet was almost identical to the options given in the FSM (like I have pictured above)
