I use a 92 700R4, which is tried, true, and works great in front of a Toy case.  The toy cases are easy to work on, you can get Marlin parts  .  The only thing I have modified in my 700 is the clutch pack (HD), and the adapter tailshaft.

What did you do about the speed sensor thats suppsoed to go into the chevy trans?  a friend of mine is doing a 4.3 swap into his and is using a w56 and he cant figure out what to do about the speedo wires. Hes not sure if its gonna fudge with the motor if he just goes without it.
I blame the automatic transmission for the wussification of America
If Its got tits tires or electronics, your gonna have problems
I drive a jeep cuz toyota doesn't make strollers
