yes, it will move the axle forward.  you will have to run a longer shackle to make up for the shackle being puched back a bit, and also, you will need hi steer to make the steering work.

They can be used without relocating the axle if you are willing to redrill the center pin holes.  I am running them on the front of my '80 with stock steering and everything.  They ride better than the stock fronts and I got about 1.5" to 2" of lift using 4 leaves and a 5" shackle.  Alot more travel, too. My goal was stock looking but improved suspension.  I have a thread on it in here somewhere. That's probably not what you're after though.

i have the longest shackels that trail gear makes for an 85 4runner. Will those work or do i have to get boomerang shackels  and what is the differance between them?

boomerang shackels will move your spring back a little bit and give you a better shackel angle and clear the body mount better. you could use regular ones and see how it works out. I'm using ruf but i was ifs so i had to put a hanger on which moved it up a lil bit. I also did my frame tubes a little lower then most and I have a ok shackel angle.
ps my trucks a lil to tall because of the body lift.
