« on: Jan 13, 2011, 07:10:37 AM »
Sup guys? Just looking to get some advice on what the best knuckle rebuild kit is. Mine are leaking. I'm not looking for a super badass one that's gonna cost a but load but definatley some good ones. Thanks guys, Ted.

I have found that the KOYO bearings have been really good but I think marlin stopped using those a few years back and have now gone to NSK those I think are better than what TG is using.  It really matters when rebuilding your knuckles to use the SST because even with using marlins HD seals and going with the standard one thick one thin shim I still leaked.  Then I purchased the SST and have rebuilt several knuckle kits and they have lasted way longer than just guessing shim thicknesses.  All Knuckles are not machined exactly the same so they don't all warrant the one thick one thin shim rule.

I used a Marlin rebuild kit and it last me a year. Once a year is not too bad.

Rtv on the knuckles top and bottom befor and after the shims has always sealed with no leaks
Same w the spindle and or backing plate
The backing plate leaks more regularly
Just my experience
