Re: 22RE-T 4Runner NEED HELP WITH SPRINGS
« Reply #308 on: Jun 24, 2011, 01:22:02 AM »
So I'm gonna attempt to lower the hoe runner buy pulling some leaf packs. I was reading what BigMike said about his 4" springs and was wondring if all the springs have the same amount of leafs such as the 4" fronts and 6" fronts and also the rears.

I have removed 2 leafs from my rear 4" USA :turtle: springs which dropped it about an inch.. But I have never removed leafs from the front packs.

Start with the bottom (shortest) leaf and work your way up. It would be best to experiment which would take more time, but would provide the best results.

For example, remove the two lower leafs and see how that looks, rides, and flexes. Then put them back on and remove only the 3rd leaf up from the bottom. Then see how that looks, rides, and flexes. You can try all sorts of combinations, but if you can, I would recommend trying to remove the shortest leafs as possible.

And I also think im going to swap my rears for left to right and right to left because my truck is leaning to the passenger side a lot from the roll. On the driver's side the bottom of the frame is 28.5" and the passenger's side is at 28". I know it doesn't seem much but you can notice it even if you are standing far away. im hoping it will help with the leaning. what to you guys suggest?

I hope after I pull some of those leafs out i will drop to 25" at least or more. once i get access to a welder ill attempt to remove the rear block and front hanger spacer and relocate them. i feel the front is gonna be a pregnant dog cuz my axle is pushed so far forward that if i remove the spacer my hanger will be in front of my frame. maybe i can get away with pushing the hanger back under the frame halfway and gusseting the crap out of it and redriling my shackles. Ill have to get back to you guys with my current shackle angles and have you guys tell me what you think.

well today I just did the bb tire balancers and damn, I am speechless.... Right after I got them on and drove them on the street, it felt like I was gliding or driving on glass.
