Opinion on tie rod rebuild
« on: Nov 29, 2010, 11:05:08 PM »
So my tie rod is totally bent up and I can't get it straight or front end to stay alligned.  Strangely, only the driver tire wears unevenly; passenger tire appears to be favored to stay straight on road....weird.

In an attempt to save some cash I was thinking about cutting the old ends off the bent tie rod and welding them back onto a steal rod.  Anyone ever done this before?  I would think it would be fine with a good weld.

Opinions???? Suggestions????
