ARB locker issue
« on: Oct 27, 2010, 07:26:45 PM »
So iv got ARB lockers front and rear on my 88 sas pickup. my rear works awsome. but my front is tempermental. half time it locks and the other half it leaks air out of my diff vent. im thinking that my air connection at the locker is the cause. but im trying to see if anyone else has had this problem before i pull my frony end apart.

i have the same problem when it gets cold out. it goes away once the gear oil warms up possibly a lower viscosity gear oil or locking the hubs up a while before needed use would help.
it's not me, it's you

If its blowing air out the breather i bet one of the o rings is bad in the collar.

If it is a new set-up(installed within the last 3-4yrs) the compression coupler at the housing is a bit of a PITA, too tight and you crush the rubber o-ring, too loose and it doesn't seal up correctly.  Might remove the coupler at the diff and see what the o-ring looks.  If the o-ring is bad, call ARBUSA and talk to the tech department, they will likely send you a new fitting at no charge.
