Cold start problem on 86 22RE
« on: Oct 19, 2010, 07:10:44 AM »
My friend changed the cold start injector time switch on my 86 Toyota truck 4x4 2.4 EFI and it still takes 3-6 times to start in the morning after being parked all night.Starts and runs good the rest of the day.Could it be the cold start injector itself is plugged/dirty,or what else?Supposed to be a new engine in this truck. My friend reused the old copper washer on the time switch he put in and I notice that the green thermal sensor next to the time switch has no copper washer.Any of this cause the hard starting.Fuel pressure leak?

Here is how you test it. The gaskets on the switches have nothing to do with the operation of the system, just keep it from leaking.
