Miller Jeep Trail in Gorman open?
« on: Jul 15, 2010, 07:41:44 PM »
Hey guys i know this trail isnt all that exciting but do you know if it is open right now? My dad wants to go and hang out there this weekend and get away from the heat. A friend told is it was closed down last weekend because they found a squirrel with a disease of some sort. If you guys know anything or know where i can find out, id greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!

It's pretty much a graded fire road now since they used it as such last year when that area was burning. Still a good day trip though no doubt. Always a good run when you enter at lockwood creek. Hopefully with the lack of vegitation and some heavy rains this winter next year it will be alot more challenging

Yeah it was easy when they first cut it after they closed the creek, do you know if they bladed Millers? Then it would be really easy. Haven't been there since I moved to AZ or since I'm back here but the ruts were getting pretty good on the Lockwood side. Might have to get my club to go there this spring once I get the 4Runner ready.

I went in May, entered on the lockwood creek side and ran it all the way to miller and then into gorman. It was all pretty much a fire road besides the big climb on miller. But even that was a easy even the rock pile section wasn't as hard as it used to be. Still a good day run though i would definately do it again
