Mc07-XD
« on: Apr 07, 2011, 10:23:19 AM »
So Im just about done with my truck build, Ive been driving it for a couple months now just to work out all the kinks. My question is on the mc07-xd doubler adapter, My tranny and t-case are from a 86 toyota truck. It looks like the shifter for the -case goes in thru the tranny housing just behind the tranny shifter, but right through the top, is that considered a remote or top? :headscratch:

So if I was to get the kit would I have to modify that case or can I just put a top shift behind it?

The front case (crawler box) can be forward shift, but the rear case MUST be top shift.  If you can't find a top shift case for the rear, Marlin sells a conversion kit. http://www.marlincrawler.com/transfer-case/shifter-parts/top-shift-conversion-kit

What about the t-case that marlin sells, where you can get 4:07 gears already installed, does that mount up as a second case with no other parts? sorry for sounding dumb but this is my first toyota build.

yes. u can have marlin build u a crawl box that is forward shift. or they can build a dual transfer case with 4.70 in the rear case and 2.28 in the crawl box. the rear case must be top shift as mentioned above. hope that helps some.

So what did the top shift cases come in? So I know what to look for at the junkyard.

A good place to find the answer to this is Marlin Transmission chart that has a column indicating top or forward shift.

order a 23 spline 4.7 rear case and then the mc07 xd 23 spline

use your tcase for the crawl box, then you got the best of the best... lol
Sand, what fun, drop pressure to 12psi, stock tires are still digging, can't afford to get stuck, 8psi, still not working. Find a place to GET OUT, air up, un-lock hubs,  WAIT whats this, hubs are UN-LOCKED already. 2wd, 8psi, stock tires, Oregon sand dunes.
