aisin carb woes
« on: Aug 17, 2010, 02:28:24 PM »
I rebuilt my aisin carb about 2 months ago and it has ran perfect ever since.  Well last night I was driving it and I pulled up to a stop light and it all of a sudden started running rough.  I had to keep the RPMs above 2000 to keep it running.  I got home and checked it out and it is just DUMPING fuel down.  It keeps on dumping fuel even after it dies.  I started it up and watched.  I ran the idle mixture screw all the way in and its still the same.  Anyone got any ideas?   :beerchug:

Some crap in the fuel needle valve.

Pinch off the hose going to the carb and run engine until it's sputtering from lack of fuel.

Release pinch.

That should flush out the crap that's keeping the valve from closing.

If that doesn't work, you'll need to take the top off the carb and clean the valve out.
