10MM Plug on IFS Box trashed. What to replace it with?
« on: Jul 29, 2010, 01:44:50 PM »
Well, I tried on the hydro assist sticky to no avail.  There is a 10mm plug that must be removed on my IFS box for tapping, that is officially trashed.  It had to be extracted from the box...the metal was so soft, the allen wrench just rounded it out.  I have the valve and spring and all that, but it doesnt even matter, I feel it will be pretty much irrelevant once the hydro assist is done.

I was told that the thread was m20x1.5 straight thread.  Is this a standare M20x1.5 thread, or is straight thread different?  Would a M20x1.5 pipe plug be different as well?

Should I order a couple different ones and see what I can get to fit?  <---I feel like this might be my best option.

Thanks

ok, scratch that one (maybe).  Is the 10mm plug infact m20x1.5 straight thread?  I can't be the only one that has had this problem.

I dont know to be honest, straight threads imply just a regular bolt. But do to it has to seal a hole it can either be pipe which seals on the threads or newer style xjc threads. Which is straight but seals at the end on a the fitting do to compression.
