88 SR5 V6 Auto Runner Nor Cal
« on: Jul 02, 2010, 06:13:20 AM »
I got it with blown hgs, blew on pas side front. Is a thread on here about it when I did it. I did it right, it runs good. Needs a speed sensor, did before I got it. Doesnt affect driving. Causes idle to be funny in park tho. Its 30 bucks from kragen or 80 from the dealer. Looks like it would take around 30 minutes to 2 hours to change depending on your skill. A shop quoted me at 102 plus sensor, but id do it myself. If I do end up doing it, the price will go up. I can jump e1 and t to show you that it only throws that one code also. Its an sr5 with every option avaiable at the time, like sunroof and cruise. Interior is clean, id say a 7.8 out of 10. Body is around an 8/10 and paint id say is a 6/10, its clean, but clear coat needs work. Truck looks great, and ive only been driving it about 10 days, and already people have commented on it being as clean as it is. Back window doesnt work, crusie control works when it wants, very small exhaust leak, can only hear on hard revs,  needs speed sensor, and smog. It is currently registered till sep 29th 2010, with no fees, except to transfer in your name, clean title. In pics it looks like it has a whitewall, but its a scuffed tire, we are gonna flip it around on the rim, and get it balanced today. I have receipts for machine work on heads, and gaskets I bought, pretty much has a new top end. It came with a ton of receipts in the dash, i believe im the 3rd owner, 2nd got it with the blown hgs, so he didnt drive it. Ive been drivin it around pretty hard, not gonna lie, I wanted to be sure this thing wasnt a lemon, and it isnt  8) 4x4 works good, no noises, shifts good, and drives smooth. No rear sag, has revtek stickers, may be a revtek lift, i dunno, but it rides the best out of the 5 toyotas I own.

2200 OBO or I would trade for a semi built front axle with highsteer and a dual transfer case setup. You could buy lilbuddys axle for 500, find a dual case setup with 4.7s pref in rear case for 500 from reno on craigslist, and have this runner for 1000 bucks, if ya wanted  :beerchug: if any more pics are wanted, pm me located in Red Bluff CA

Yup, he swapped a "new" rad into it, said it got hot, and started runnin bad, just kept drivin, and it started sprayin water. The whole 20 min thing doesnt sound right to me, as i towed the 91 I got from him all the way back down the long ass road with the 4runner, and it did fine, and the whole time we were loading it onto the trailer, it was running, I have my doubts as to wheter he just hopped in it an started mashin the piss out of it, after I  had told him the small things it needed. I dunno

Guess you never really know, just kinda sucky you put in all that work and this happened, but I guess it doesn't matter since it's out of your hands.
