3.4 auto ecu
« on: Jun 03, 2010, 02:43:49 PM »
Hey fellow marlinites. I've been reading for days about swaps of all sorts, i think my ears might be bleeding. (i've read which means i've searched through the hay bails of info everywhere). But what im looking for always ends up at a dead end.

So 3.4 swap in an older runner. Questions as follow,

1) has anyone successfully gotten an auto harness and ecu to work properly on a manual truck? Some people start to try and then end up finding 5 speed harness and ecu. Others (years ago) got a auto to run but looks like within 6 months changed to the manual stuff because the engine didn't run right.

1A) No one ever figured out the resistors thing did they?

2) Has anyone successfully repinned the ecu connectors from auto the manual ( my posssible swap motor is a 96 before the wires matched.) I know it would be time consuming but possibly easier than finding a manual harness and computer, and i have no problem picking up 3 or 4 connectors from my local stealer.

No ref oregon swap, with emmisions sniff test (so im not to worried about vin match up and everything like my brothers to the south.)

Again sorry about the lame "re-ask", i know the answer is out there, its just in the middle of 100 pages of other awesome info from everyone.

Thanks
