Topic: 2.7l 3rz knocking!!!

flopped my truck on its side this weekend. after i rolled it up right i pulled the plugs and cranked the oil out. i let it settle and replaced the missing oil and fired it up. it has a pretty decent know coming from it now. any ideas what this could be? i didn't flop over too hard? can someone point me in the right direction to fix this. thanks

ya know i haven't even pulled the cover off yet. could flopping over cause one to break or bend?

i rolled my taco on its side and got kinda knocked out for a little bit and it just kept running, didnt leak at all though, and it was all the way on its side

ya mine didnt leak alot either. just a lot of white smoke coming out of the exhaust and that knocking. i already cleaned spark plugs just wondering what else could go wrong from laying it on its side. like i said it wasnt even that bad of a flop it was so slow i had time to try and drive out of it.

sorry to hear it dude hope its nothing major! but it sounds like maybe it didnt have enough oil in it for the pump to pick up when its on its side, i didnt think about it but i run big filters and extra oil

You can run a 4.7L tundra filer and add more oil.  I've done that...

that won't fix the knocking though. but a good idea for the future.

i know its off the subject but i run a big ford filter F1A the really big one

is it knocking for sure or is it tapping from the head?

i don't really know i guess. it sounds like a knock. maybe i better let someone else listen to it.
