1982 4WD 5 speed trans & transfer case issue
« on: May 10, 2010, 07:11:41 PM »
I checked the oil levels on my transmission and found the level low and the transfer case too high. A month or so after bringing both to their proper levels, I found the same thing was happening. I rebuilt the transmission last year and used the gaskets & bearings sold to me. I am assuming all parts are correct. What would cause such an odd issue. Anybody out there have this issue or can shed some light? It's always done this.

Did you replace your transmission rear output seal? My 84 G52 was puking gear oil from my trans into my t-case. Called MC and got a new rear seal and all is well. I believe if your stock then your running an L50, but don`t quote me on this. Call the gang at MC and they`ll set you up with the proper seal and don`t forget to put some grease on it before installing.

It's been so long since I did it I can't remember. There is a seal between the trans and the TC? I need to go through my paperwork... Thanks!
