Gas tank question
« on: Sep 01, 2010, 12:14:13 PM »
I am trying to find a gas tank for my 85 4runner.  The part number on the frame is diffrent than the tank at Napa or Autozone.  I am confused!

Help!

You're confused that napa and autozone carry different part numbers than toyota?  Toyota part numbers are toyota part numbers  :headscratch:

well the manufacturer numbers are 1 letter off!  so toyota and napa are close to the same number thats what scares me!

the frame number that is on my truck and the frame number on Napas site are diffrent by 1 number.  I am looking for what numbers i wrote down. hold on....

The bracketry on the truck is different than the 4Runners. 4Runner tanks hang lower, tanks are the same but the brackets are not. Don't know if this is the difference in numbers they have, I think it would be best to check Toyota's and see if that is the reason.

you might try calling a salvage yard and seeing if they can do part exchange look-up. See if there are any other Toyota vehicles use the same fuel tank and have napa reference the different vehicle.
