Brakes
« on: Mar 29, 2010, 09:46:08 PM »
OK just installed a new dual diaphragm booster and holy cow what a difference.  I got some serious braking now... a little too much..  I have that little load valve set about in the middle, but the rear still locks up and skids to the right under heavy braking from 15 mph.  Is there any hope with the stock valve or should I just go for the proportioning valve right away.  I have V6 front calipers FJ rotors FJ master and V6 rear axle.

Do you still have an lspv in the rear?  Is it possibly adjusted all the way up?

I need to do this same thing.. I would get an aftermarket adjustable one.  Both of my trucks i have bypassed the lspv. And brake ok without locking up

aftermarket ones are the way to go.   you set them to your drive style,  wether you loaded or not and for the wether your driving in to.
i love oregon wheelin.

Well I made a little bracket to adjust it through its range and it works well.  The rear slightly locks up now and the front chatters. Now with my new found incredible braking my nose dive is terrible. Oh well, guess I will have to live with it for now. I am just amazed on how easily this pig stops on 37s. Hardly any pedal pressure and come to a stop easily.
