Got a Concern Bout EZ locker
« on: Mar 08, 2010, 03:35:31 PM »
Ok so I just installed a v6 Detroit Ez locker in my front axel :willynilly: I am mad excited about the locker.  Any ways i was reading the owners manual and it said not to run tires larger than 32...... ok im now running 33 and plan to run 35 now im not a super hardcore wheeler but like to know that it is stable enough to where i dont have to replace it. does anyone run an EZ locker with large tires? Have you had a problem with it? let me know maybe anything else that I might want to know?

I killed the V6 Detroit EZ locker in my hi pinion front end. It reuses the stock V6 side gears and upon further inspection the teeth do not mesh good enough in my opinion. It rounded the teeth off the cogs. In the 4 cylinder version of the EZ locker you replace the side gears with cogs for the EZ locker. This setup meshes much better.
