Newbie from Alabama
« on: Dec 08, 2004, 06:03:33 AM »
Hi everyone. I'm just getting into the toyota thing now. I've had big chevy mud trucks and now have a 93 ex cab daily driver & am getting a 85 4runner for a trail truck. For the 4 runner I am regeariing to 5.29s with a spool out back & open front. I am going to run 35 boggers. What kind of lift would you recommend? I am planning on cutting the fenders to get rid of the rust & possible bob the rear.Hope to be out on the trails soon. Thanks, David

Nice    I just got mine last summer, so I'm still getting started :) It was bone stock when I got it.

I'm down in Mobile. I plan on building the 4runner for trail riding in places like grayrock. My suburban is just too big for the trails. Its built for mudbogging.

Glad to see another Alabamian! I'm from Skyline AL,( extreme northeast corner) .

For your lift I would stay away from lift "kits" such as pro comp or rancho etc. Buy a good quality spring such as marlin's or all-pro's, you won't regret it.

Why not save your $$ on the spool and weld the rear? It will work just as good , and it's free.
Put the extra cash toward a dual case. Your clutch will thank you.
